The Hall can seat up to around 100 people depending on room layout required.
Total floor area: 13 x 10 meters (42 x 33 feet), interrupted by pillars at one side.
Main area: 13 x 7½ meters (42 x 24 feet).
The scale of charges represents a framework from which we tailor your hire according to your requirements.

Booking policy
Hiring is normally by the session – single, double or full. However, we are more than happy to discuss specific requirements.
We cannot accept responsibility for any activities or equipment of those hiring rooms. Hirers are therefore asked to ensure that their own Public Liability Insurance covers them against any claim made against them in respect of any activity they are responsible for, any equipment they bring onto the premises, or any damage caused to the premises.
Any equipment left in the building is at the owners' risk; the church is not responsible for it.
The room must be left in the same order as it was on arrival. You must pay for the cost of making good any damage caused by this hiring.
These rooms may not be used for purposes other than that specified on the booking sheet without prior permission from the Church.
The Church reserves the right of access, should it be required, at all times. However, we will avoid disturbance as far as best possible and ensure privacy if required.
It is very helpful if definitive arrangements can be made at least 4 weeks in advance. This is essential in the case of series or block bookings.
Bookings are provisional until confirmed by the return of the booking form. We reserve the right to cancel provisional bookings if we receive a definitive booking from elsewhere.
We reserve the right to cancel any booking in an emergency, or if the rooms become needed for Church activities in which case we will give at least 24 hours notice.
If you cancel within the provisional booking period there is no charge. Once the dates are confirmed by you and by us a cancellation charge will be incurred as follows:-
10% of the agreed charge from 28 to 15 days before the booked date
20% of the agreed charge from 14 to 8 days before the booked date
50% of the agreed charge from 7 to 2 days before the booked date
100% of the agreed charge 1 day before or on the day of the booking
No smoking is permitted anywhere on church grounds. The pedestrianised zone on Northumberland Road has seats and bins where cigarette ends can be discarded.
Safeguarding - by making this booking you will adhere to St James's URC Safeguarding policy, which can be viewed on the About Us tab on this website, unless you wish to use your own policy. In this case, you must upon request provide a copy.
Part of the public area inside the building is monitored by CCTV. Images from this system are only used for security purposes, and accessed solely by authorised church officials. They are only retained long enough for any incident to come to light, and for the incident to be investigated.
